Επίσκεψη μαθητών του 1ου ΕΠΑΛ Αμπελοκήπων και του ΓΕΛ Αξιού στο Europe Direct Θεσσαλονίκης στις 9 Μαρτίου 2026
Το Κέντρο Ευρωπαϊκής Πληροφόρησης Europe Direct Θεσσαλονίκης του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης υποδέχθηκε στις εγκαταστάσεις του μαθητές και εκπαιδευτικούς από το 1ο ΕΠΑΛ Αμπελοκήπων και το ΓΕΛ Αξιού την Δευτέρα 9 Μαρτίου 2026, στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας των δύο σχολείων ως Σχολεία Πρέσβεις του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου (EPAS – European Parliament Ambassador School).
Συνολικά περίπου 50 μαθητές και εκπαιδευτικοί επισκέφθηκαν το Kέντρο και συμμετείχαν σε ενημερωτική δράση σχετικά με τον ρόλο και τη λειτουργία της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης παρουσιάστηκαν βασικές πτυχές της ευρωπαϊκής διακυβέρνησης και των θεσμών της ΕΕ, όπως η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή, το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο και το Συμβούλιο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.
Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στις ευρωπαϊκές πολιτικές για τα δικαιώματα των ατόμων με αναπηρία, μια θεματική που αποτελεί και πεδίο εργασίας των μαθητών στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος EPAS. Οι συμμετέχοντες είχαν την ευκαιρία να συζητήσουν για τις πρωτοβουλίες της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης που προωθούν την ισότητα, την προσβασιμότητα και την κοινωνική ένταξη.
Παράλληλα, οι μαθητές ενημερώθηκαν για τις ευκαιρίες που προσφέρει η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση στους νέους, μέσα από προγράμματα κινητικότητας, εκπαίδευσης και εθελοντισμού, όπως το Erasmus+, το DiscoverEU και το European Solidarity Corps, τα οποία δίνουν τη δυνατότητα στους νέους να ταξιδέψουν, να σπουδάσουν, να αποκτήσουν εμπειρίες στο εξωτερικό και να συμμετέχουν ενεργά στην ευρωπαϊκή κοινωνία.
Το Europe Direct Θεσσαλονίκης ευχαριστεί θερμά τους μαθητές και τους εκπαιδευτικούς των δύο σχολείων για την επίσκεψη, την εξαιρετική συνεργασία και τον δημιουργικό διάλογο που αναπτύχθηκε κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης. Τέτοιες δράσεις ενισχύουν τη γνώση των νέων για την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση και ενθαρρύνουν την ενεργή συμμετοχή τους στα ευρωπαϊκά δρώμενα.

Visit of students from 1st EPAL Ampelokipon and GEL Axiou to Europe Direct Thessaloniki on Monday 9th March
The Europe Direct Thessaloniki – European Information Centre of the Municipality of Thessaloniki welcomed at its premises students and teachers from the 1st EPAL Ampelokipon and GEL Axiou on Monday 9th March, in the framework of the cooperation between the two schools as European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS).
A total of around 50 students and teachers visited the centre and participated in an informative session about the role and functioning of the European Union. During the meeting, key aspects of the EU’s governance and institutions were presented, including examples such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council of the European Union.
Particular emphasis was placed on European policies concerning the rights of persons with disabilities, which is also one of the thematic areas the students are working on within the EPAS programme. Participants had the opportunity to discuss initiatives of the European Union that promote equality, accessibility, and social inclusion.
At the same time, students were informed about the opportunities available to young people through European Union programmes, including mobility, education, and volunteering initiatives such as Erasmus+, DiscoverEU, and the European Solidarity Corps. These programmes give young people the chance to travel, study, gain international experience, and actively engage with European society.
Europe Direct Thessaloniki warmly thanks the students and teachers of both schools for their visit, the excellent cooperation, and the constructive dialogue that developed during the meeting. Initiatives like this help strengthen young people’s understanding of the European Union and encourage their active participation in European affairs.
