Menexes Christos was from Thessaloniki, a remarkable member of the city’s society, he was caught along with many others, when the Greeks of Halkidiki revolted, in May 1821, as soon as the message of the National Uprising arrived. He was hanged along with other notables of Thessaloniki in 1821
