Eleftherios Venizelos was a politician of modern Greece. He was born in 1864 and he died self-exiled in Paris in 1936. He took part in the Revolution in Crete and he fought for its Union with Greece. He was Prime Minister of Greece in various occasions and he fought for the vision of Megali Idea (Great Idea) and the modernisation of the State.
