Mackenzie King was a Canadian politician (1874-1950). He was Prime-Minister during World War II and he fought against the Axis Powers. He was a philhellene and during the German Occupation, Canada sent humanitarian aid to the Greeks.

Makedoniki Amyna (Macedonian Resistance) was a secret patriotic organisation. It was founded by Ion Dragoumis in 1902, when he was appointed Vice-Consul at the Greek Consulate in Monastiri. It was in charge of organising the Macedonian Struggle.
Lorentzos Mavilis (1860-1912) was a lyric poet from Ithaca. He was a demoticist and he was a philosopher and translator of foreign literary works. He was an MP and fought voluntarily in the War of 1897 and the Balkan Wars, when he died.
Kostis Moskof (1939-1998) was a poet, historian, author and journalist from Thessaloniki. He is one of the most important representatives of post-war literature of Thessaloniki. He was elected city councillor and he was also elected Mayor of Thessaloniki for a short time.

Bizani is a village in Epirus. In February 1913, a victorious – for the Greek army – battle took place at its fortress. This battle resulted in the liberation of Ioannina and Epirus.

Efthimios Bountonas was born in Velventos, Kozani in 1864 and died in Athens in 1941. He served as Principal of the High School of Thessaloniki and he was appointed General Inspector for the Schools of Macedonia. He offered important services during the Macedonian Struggle.
Bornova was a settlement close to Smyrna with mixed population and an important Greek community. From the 19th century, it flourished as a suburb of Smyrna and it was known as a resort. It was popular among the Europeans of the region and members of the high society.
