Nikolaos Votsis (187-1931) was born in Hydra and he was an officer of the Navy. On October 18, 1912 he sank the Turkish warship Feth-I Bulent inside the port of Thessaloniki. He served as the High Commissioner of Constantinople (1921-1922). He retired in 1922 with the rank of Rear Admiral.
