Pavlos Melas (1870-1904) was an officer. He was member of Ethniki Eteria (National Society), he fought in the war of 1897 and then, he participated in the Macedonian Struggle by the nom de guerre Mikis Zezas. He organised guerrilla troops and he was killed in October 1904. He is considered as a symbol of the Macedonian Struggle.
