VICTOR HUGO

Victor Hugo (1802-1885) was a French poet, playwright, novelist and politician. His works had international and timeless appeal. His philhellenism was obvious in his works. He was in favour of all the struggles of Greeks for their freedom, from the Greek Revolution of 1821 to the Revolution of Crete of 1866-1869.
