Kastoria is a city of Western Macedonia. It is built on the shore of Lake Orestiada. It was founded in the 6th century A.D. It played a leading role in the Byzantine times and the Macedonian Struggle. It has numerous Byzantine churches and it is famous for the architecture of its mansions and the fur trade.
