Georgios Ampatzoglou was born in Saranta Ekklisies, East Thrace and he was imprisoned for his involvement in the national matters. In 1922 he settled as a refugee in Thessaloniki, he fought for the rehabilitation of the refugees and he was the founder of the Housing Cooperative of Refugees from Saranta Ekklisies. He died in 1951.
