Phidias (around 495-around 415 B.C.) was a top Athenian sculptor, painter and architect. He made the bronze statue of Athena Promachos on the Acropolis, he decorated the Parthenon with his sculptures and he also designed the chryselephantine statue of Athena Parthenos inside the Partnenon. At Olympia, he made the chryselephantine Statue of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
