Museum of Byzantine Culture

The Museum of Byzantine Culture aims in presenting various aspects of life during the byzantine and post-byzantine periods: art, ideology, social structure and religion, as well as how historical changes and the political situation were affecting people’ s everyday life. State Museum of Contemporary Art

Contemporary Art Centre of Thessaloniki

The Contemporary Art Center of Thessaloniki (9A) www.cact.gr is part of the SMCA, is housed at the Warehouse B1, at the Thessaloniki port area and hosts temporary exhibitions by the SMCA or its own productions.

Macedonian Museum Of Contemporary Art

The MMCA is a citizens’ initiative, unique in the history of the Greek contemporary arts field. Since the Museum was founded (1O78), its Collection, is constantly enriched through new donations by artists and significant collectors, such as Alexandros Iolas, Franz Geierhaas, Magda Kotzia, Alexandros Xydis and Dimitris Meimaroglou. The Museum’s specially designed educational programs make a significant contribution to initiating children into the world of contemporary art.

Teloglion Foundation

Teloglion Foundation, since its establishment in 1972, thanks to the donation of Nestor and Aliki Telloglou, is not only a museum, but a place where multiple cultural events take place. The main Collection consists of paintings, sculptures and engraving works of famous Greek and European artists of the 19th-20th century, and important artworks related to different cultures. The Foundation’s organizes important educational programs on an annual basis.

Folklife & Ethnological Museum Of Macedonia-Thace

The F.E.M.M.-Th. researches, studies and exhibits the traditional culture of recent times in the region of northern Greece. The Museum’s collections comprise items of preindustrial and industrial era, artifacts which served man’s basic needs for food, housing and clothing, as well as items playing a part in social and spiritual life.

Thessaloniki Cinema Museum-Cinematheque

The Thessaloniki Cinema Museum Cinematheque, part of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, presents a modern view on the history of Greek cinema from the first experimental efforts in the early 2Oth century up to modern film productions. The screenings of the Thessaloniki Cinematheque are hosted at the “Takis Kanellopoulos” hall. The Museum also houses the largest cinema library in Greece, with 6.500 titles.

Foundation Of The Museum for the Macedonian Struggle

The Museum graphically illustrates the modern and contemporary history of Hellenic Macedonia (19th – 2Oth century), i.e. the social, economic, political and military developments that shaped the historical physiognomy of Hellenism in the region. NOESIS is a non-profit cultural foundation that promotes innovation and technology culture. Thessaloniki Olympic Museum

‘’The Olympic Museum, unique in Greece, was founded in 1998, initially as Sports Museum. Ιs member of the ICOM (International Council of Museums), the ISHA (International Sports Heritage Association) and a founding member of the worldwide ‘’Olympic Museums Network’’, supported by the I.O.C. Railway Museum Of Thessaloniki

The railway museum of thessaloniki has been in operation since 2OO1, located at the military station’s building, built in 1891 by the italian architect, pierro arrigoni. It hosts numerous and rare railway exhibits such as original vehicles, restaurant and sleepwagon from the orient express, locomotives, wagons, uniforms, telegraphs, tools and archival material.

Museum of Photography

The Museum of Photography is the only state-run museum dedicated solely to photography, aiming to approach all different usages of the photographich medium. Its activities are realized on a local, national and international level. Its collections and its archives include more than 100.000 photographic objects. National Bank Of Greece Cultural Foundation

Jewish Museum οf Thessaloniki

The Museum displays photographs and artifacts concerning the history of the Jewish presence in Thessaloniki since the foundation of the city and up to the 2nd WW. The Museum library is a documentation centre on the history, the traditions and customs and the language of the Sephardic Jews.

House of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk

The founder of the modern Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was born in 1881 in this historical house. He spent his childhood and part of his youth here. In this house, between 19O7-1911 he planned an independent, free country. This historical house presented as a gift from Greece to Turkey in 1937. In November 1Oth 1953 it opened its doors to visits as “Ataturk’s House”.

Η μόνιμη συλλογή του μουσείου παρουσιάζει την επανάσταση του 1821, τον Μακεδονικό Αγώνα, τους Βαλκανικούς πόλεμους, τον Α’ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο, τον Ελληνοϊταλικό πόλεμο του 40-41, την εισβολή των γερμανικών δυνάμεων, τη Μάχη της Κρήτης, την Εθνική Αντίσταση στην Ελλάδα και τη δράση του ελληνικού στρατού στη Μέση Ανατολή καθώς και την απελευθέρωση της Ελλάδας από τον Άξονα.

ΜΟΥΣΕΙΟ ΥΔΡΕΥΣΗΣ

Σε ένα ιστορικό για την ύδρευση της πόλης κτιριακό συγκρότημα στην περιοχή των Σφαγείων, το παλιό Κεντρικό Αντλιοστάσιο του άλλοτε Οργανισμού Υδρεύσεως Θεσσαλονίκης (σήμερα Ε.Υ.Α.Θ. Α.Ε.), στεγάζεται το Μουσείο Ύδρευσης. Το συγκρότημα κατασκευάστηκε στα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα (1890-94) σε απόσταση περίπου 1.500 μέτρων από τα δυτικά τείχη του ιστορικού κέντρου της Θεσσαλονίκης.

ΜΟΥΣΕΙΟ ΡΑΔΙΟΦΩΝΟΥ

Το Μουσείο Ραδιοφωνίας είναι ένα μικρό μουσείο που βρίσκεται στην Νότια πύλη της Έκθεσης (ΧΑΝΘ). Παραμένει ανοιχτό καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της ετήσιας ΔΕΘ, ενώ την υπόλοιπη χρονιά δέχεται επισκέψεις ενδιαφερομένων κατόπιν ραντεβού.
Στους χώρους του φιλοξενούνται και διατηρούνται πάσης φύσεως υλικά, σχετικού άμεσα ή έμμεσα με τη φωνή και τον ήχο, με χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα κάποια από τα μηχανήματα του ιδρυτή του πρώτου ραδιοφώνου των βαλκανίων.
